The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing at Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Nursing has consistently demonstrated its commitment to community engagement through various outreach programs. These initiatives aim to improve health awareness, foster preventive care, and provide essential support to underserved populations while offering students valuable practical exposure.

Key Events

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Camps. Continuing its pandemic response, the department vaccinated underserved individuals, ensuring safety and awareness.
  • Upskilling Workshop for Novice Nurses. This event equipped new nurses with essential competencies for clinical care, focusing on maternal and child health.
  • International Women’s Day Celebration.theme: “Inspire Inclusion” – 51 mothers were sensitized
  • Menstrual hygiene camp- Arunodayam Girls Home for mentally retarded, Ambattur. This outreach initiative benefited 25 residents, focusing on health check-ups, menstrual  hygiene workshops, and emotional well-being counseling.
  • World Breastfeeding Week .This program, attended by 107 participants, highlighted the nutritional and emotional benefits of breastfeeding and provided practical support for mothers.
  • Breast Cancer Awareness Program. Educating 49 beneficiaries, this event included screening camps and expert talks to promote breast cancer prevention and early detection.Through these activities, the department has successfully improved health literacy and preventive care awareness. Reached diverse populations with targeted interventions.
